Anne Petre, MD

Dr. Anne Petre is the President of Stone Ridge Medical Group.

Dr. Petre completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin – Parkside in 1985, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Baccalaureate in Science. An accomplished violinist, Dr. Petre performed as Concertmaster of the UW-Parkside Symphony Orchestra. She went on to receive her medical doctorate degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1989, earning election to Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She served as a tutor for medical students in the Department of Anatomy, and was first author of “Selenium-Induced Teratogenesis in the Chick Embryo” presented at the American Association of Anatomists National Convention. She completed her residency in Family Practice at Naval Hospital Pensacola, earning the Most Valuable Intern Award, and was sole author of “Use of Routine Laboring Epidurals at Naval Hospitals” published in Military Medicine in 1992.

Dr. Petre served as a family physician with full privileges, including obstetrics, at Naval Hospital Twenty-Nine Palms, CA from 1992-95. While at Twenty-Nine Palms,  she served on the hospital Executive Board and in the role of Quality Assurance Physician Advisor. In addition, she represented the United States Navy as Delegate to the American Medical Association Young Physician Section.  Dr. Petre was honorably discharged from the US Navy as a Lieutenant Commander in 1995, then moved to the Quad-Cities with her husband and children. She began her civilian medical career in Silvis, IL, performing a full spectrum of family and emergency medicine. She taught nurse practitioner students as Adjunct Faculty for the University of Illinois. In 2008, “Dr. Anne” became the President of the newly formed independent practice known as Stone Ridge Medical Group.

James Petre, MD

Dr. Petre is a family physician working with Stone Ridge Medical Group.

Dr. Petre graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kellogg Community College while working as an officer in active duty for the United States Navy. He was granted early acceptance into the Medical College of Wisconsin, and in 1989 he received his Medical Degree. He served as Chief Resident in the Family Practice Department in the Naval Hospital (Pensacola, FL) in 1991 and 1992, and completed his residency shortly after. In 1992, he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for his efforts in advancing the training of interns and residents. He was also declared Family Practice Resident Teacher of the Year.

After completing his residency, Dr. Petre practiced as a family physician with full priveleges (including obstetrics) from 1992-95 at the Naval Hospital (Twenty-Nine palms, CA). He also served as a staff physician at the Eisenhower Immediate Care Center (La Quinta, CA) from 1993-95. After moving to the Quad-Cities with his family, he began working as a family physician at Illini Hospital in Silvis, IL. Dr. Petre became an emergency room physician at Illini Hospital in 1999.

Dr. Petre served as Illini Hospital’s Chief of Family Medicine from 1998-2000. He was the Medical Director of Rosewood Care Center from 2000-02. Since then, he has served on several boards and committees with Genesis Health Group, such as the Executive Committee and the Credentials Committee. In 2006, He was elected Chairman of the Finance Committee for Genesis Health Group.

Dr. Petre now works as physician at Stone Ridge Medical Group. Additionally, he is a national representative for six pharmaceutical companies (Kos, Takeda, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly). As a speaker for these companies, he is responsible for preparing and presenting detailed lectures to other medical doctors. These presentations vary greatly in topic, and essentially explain, analyze, and discuss the benefits of using particular pharmaceuticals to treat commonly diagnosed illnesses.

    Julianna Castro is a board certified APN Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from the Family Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Illinois.
